Dr. Rebecca L. Pearl, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Yale University and completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Penn Center for Weight and Eating Disorders. Dr. Pearl’s research examines the mental and physical health correlates and consequences of weight stigma, with an emphasis on understanding the negative impact of weight bias internalization. She is currently investigating a clinical intervention to reduce self-directed stigma among individuals with obesity.
