Celebrate the holidays... a stay body-positive!

Lots of parents, for lots of reasons, experience anxiety as the holidays set in. Family gatherings (pre-pandemic, anyway) and holiday expectations have always been emotional hotbeds. The barrage of confections is real and so are your feelings about them… but the best thing we can do for our kids, tweens, and teens is create an environment where they can enjoy their sweets, savor the season, and move on with their day!

In order to support your tween/teen’s positive relationships with holiday sweets we have to take a measured approach involving three steps: we need to check out our own “issues”, we need to shore up the way we are managing feeding in our homes, and we need to deploy mini-exposures well in advance of Turkey Day to ensure that holiday treats don’t look like exotic animals.
